About
I am a writer, poet and animal lover living in South Surrey, British Columbia, Canada.
Lately my work has focused on genealogy. I find it fascinating to discover hidden stories and people in our family tree. As I need to translate content into English to fully understand it, I decided to share my translations of some letters written by ancestors and others. I also began publishing obituaries that were not available in the English language, or were never published. You will find them on my blog. Recently I began sharing obituaries and their translations with the biographical wiki of Bethel College, North Newton, Kansas, where you will find lots of amazing content.
Genealogy began as research for the biography of my father, Peter Plett, which is still in progress. He is a great storyteller who survived incredible challenges with humour and faith. I share many of his stories on this blog. Some interviews, like the one below from his time as a prisoner of war, are on my YouTube Channel.
If you are a cat lover, you may enjoy my cat blog.
Kind people have honoured me with writing awards, but I want to focus not on me, but on you. I hope that you are inspired and encouraged and that your heart is filled by the stories and poetry that I share.
