The writing life

That irresistible draw of words - picking the right one, and doing that again and again, it never gets old. You keep seeing a better way to express things. You stop eating, because the words are coming together in a better way. When is it finished? Maybe never. But sometimes you know it's ready to press send or submit or read out to friendly listeners, like I did below at Semiahmoo Arts.

resources for writing

  • The Writer's Digest magazine is very helpful. They also offer a lot of advice online and on social media.
  • Meet other writers. The Surrey International Writers' Conference in October is an amazing opportunity.
  • I've been privileged to film several YouTube videos with writing advice from Surrey's former Poet Laureate and other writers.

ABOUT ME

I'm a writer, poet and animal lover living in South Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. I also love baking, like these chocolate chip cookies eaten fresh from the oven at a local cooking class.
